Riyadh Season is the capital’s annual entertainment festival: several months of themed zones, concerts, sports events, food and family attractions spread across the city. You don’t need a big budget to enjoy it. Choosing one or two ticketed experiences, adding free or low-cost activities, and buying only through official channels will keep costs under control.
This guide explains what the season is, when the 2026–27 edition runs, the main kinds of zones and events, how to buy tickets safely, and a simple plan for enjoying it on a reasonable budget.
What is Riyadh Season, and who runs it?
The Arabic name, موسم الرياض (Mawsim Al-Riyadh), simply means “the season of Riyadh”: a defined period each year when the city hosts a concentrated programme of entertainment. It was first held in 2019 as part of the Saudi Seasons initiative under Vision 2030.
It isn’t owned by a private company in the usual sense. The season is organised under the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), the government body responsible for Saudi Arabia’s entertainment sector, working with private operators who run individual zones and events.
Riyadh Season 2026-2027 officially launches on October 21, 2026, under the theme “Big Time” continues for 10 weeks filled with events and experiences that take you through the season’s different zones
When the Riyadh Season 2026–27 season runs
The official 2026–27 booklet gives opening dates zone by zone rather than a single start date for the whole season. Key dates:
Date | What opens or happens |
22 October | Concert series begins at Abu Bakr Salem Stage, Boulevard City |
24 October | Many Boulevard City attractions, restaurants and cafés open |
25 October | Boulevard World opens |
1 November | AlDirah Winter begins in historic central Riyadh, running for 128 days |
18 November | Wonder Garden opens in Boulevard City |
19–28 November | Ethnosport Culture Festival and Al Hisn Maze |
18 December | Al Suwaidi Park and the Farmers Market open |
7 January 2027 | AFC Asian Cup 2027 live screenings begin at The Groves |
If AlDirah Winter runs its full 128 days from 1 November, it continues into early March 2027, which gives a sense of how long the season lasts. The booklet doesn’t state an overall closing date.

Riyadh Season Tickets - Buying tickets safely
- Use the official channel. The season’s exclusive ticketing partner is webook.com, through its website and app. Event pages in the booklet carry the same “Book your ticket: webook.com” label.
- Check the branding and the web address. Fake ticket pages copy the official logo and colours. Type webook.com yourself or open the official app, rather than following links in ads or messages.
- Avoid resale on social media. Tickets bought from strangers may be fake or refused at the gate.
- Read the terms before paying: entry times, age limits, what’s included, and the refund or change policy.
- Keep your e-ticket ready in the app or as a screenshot, and bring the ID used for booking if requested.
Riyadh season festival - A simple plan for a reasonable budget
Decide on your budget per outing
Set one amount for each visit that includes tickets, transport and food, rather than just the ticket price. Extras inside zones, such as games, rides, photos and snacks, are where spending grows fastest.
Mix one paid experience with free ones
Pick one ticketed zone or event per outing, and plan lower-cost outings around heritage and community spaces, such as AlDirah Winter’s plazas, the Farmers Market or Al Suwaidi Park’s daily World Carnival parade. Check entry costs for each on webook.com, because the booklet doesn’t say which are free.
Go on quieter days
Weekday evenings are usually less crowded than weekends, and some zones offer different prices by day
Book early for headline events
Popular concerts and sports nights can sell out quickly. Decide which one or two you really want, set an alert in the official app, and book as soon as tickets are released, rather than paying more later from unofficial sellers.
Plan transport and food
Public transport, such as the Riyadh Metro and bus network, can be cheaper than parking at busy venues. Check routes and closing times before you go. Eating before you go, or sharing dishes in a group, keeps food costs down.

FAQs
1. Are there free events during the season?
Usually, yes. Past seasons have included free-to-watch parades, open-air performances and cultural spaces with free or low-cost entry, alongside ticketed zones. Which events are free changes each year, so check the official app or website for the current line-up.
2. Can visitors from outside Saudi Arabia attend?
Yes, with the right visa. Many nationalities can apply for a tourist visa online. Tickets are bought through the same official channels as for residents. Check the visa rules for your nationality before booking flights or event tickets.
3. Can I get a refund if I can't attend?
It depends on the ticket’s terms. Some events allow changes or refunds within a set period, and others are non-refundable. Read the terms before you pay, and contact the official ticketing platform as early as possible if your plans change.
4. Is the season only in Riyadh?
Yes, it takes place across venues in Riyadh. Other parts of Saudi Arabia run their own seasonal events through the year, so if you live outside the capital, check what’s planned closer to home.
5. What should I do if I think I bought a fake ticket?
Contact the official ticketing platform to check whether the ticket is valid, then contact your bank about disputing the payment if it isn’t. Keep screenshots of the seller’s page and messages, and report the fraud through the official channels in Saudi Arabia.
6. What time of day is best to visit a zone?
Earlier in the evening is usually quieter, especially on weekdays, and gives you time to see the main attractions before queues build up. Later evenings tend to be busier but livelier, with shows and lighting at their best. Check each zone’s opening hours in the official app.
