Survey apps in India can pay, but usually in small amounts and in forms that differ a lot from app to app: Google Play credit, gift vouchers, bank transfer or UPI. The apps worth your time are the ones whose payout rules you can read, understand and check before you start. That is the lens for this guide to the best survey apps in India: what each option is, how to join, what to look for in the fine print, and how to avoid fake survey offers.

Disclosure: The Panel Station publishes this guide and is one of the options below. The list is not ranked, and it draws on publicly available information, not hands-on testing by our team. Terms change, so check each app’s current rules in India before you rely on them.

What survey apps actually pay in India

Market research companies pay panel members for their opinions because brands want to understand consumers. In return, apps usually give points, which are later swapped for a reward. The reward might be a voucher, Play Store credit or, with some panels, cash-style payouts.

Three things shape what you really earn:

  • Survey availability. Surveys are matched to your profile. You may not qualify for every invitation, and some surveys end early if you are screened out or the target number of responses has already been reached.
  • Time versus reward. A long survey that pays a few rupees can work out to very little per hour. Before starting, compare the time shown with the reward shown.
  • Rules on turning points into rewards. Minimum balances, point-to-rupee rates, expiry dates and verification checks decide whether your points ever become something you can spend.

If you are new to how this works, The Panel Station’s guide to research surveys and how to join one explains the basics.

10 of the best survey apps in India for Indian users

The apps below are survey platforms that Indian users can try, based on the sources listed in Part F. For each one, the draft states only what could be supported, then points you to what to verify. No entry here guarantees earnings.

When choosing, these questions mattered most: is the operator identifiable, is it free to join, does it offer a payout route that works in India, and are the redemption rules published?

1. Google Opinion Rewards

Google Opinion Rewards is a Google app that sends short surveys and pays in Google Play credit. According to Google’s help pages, the credit is applied to your Google payment profile, and you can spend it in the Play Store on apps, games, movies, TV shows or music. Credit expires, so use it before the date shown in the app or Play Store. Some surveys, such as the initial setup questions, do not earn credit.

Pros: Run by a well-known company; no minimum to cash out because the reward is Play credit; surveys are short. Cons: Reward is Play credit, not cash or UPI; survey frequency is not in your control; credits expire.

2. Toluna Influencers

Toluna Influencers is a survey and community platform with a mobile app. Its App Store listing describes choosing surveys by length, category or reward, and redeeming points for vouchers, products or cash. Third-party reviews describe a points-based system with minimum balances before you can redeem, and some report that points expire after a period.

Pros: Lets you filter surveys by length or reward; community polls and features beyond surveys. Cons: Points systems can be hard to translate into rupees; minimums and expiry matter, so read them first.

3. YouGov

YouGov is a polling and market research company with a panel for India. Members earn points for taking surveys and can redeem them for rewards. Reviews in other markets note that YouGov can take longer to reach its redemption minimum than some other apps.

Pros: Established research brand; many surveys are about opinions and current topics. Cons: Invitations depend on your profile, and it can take a while to build up to a first redemption.

4. LifePoints

LifePoints is a global survey panel in which members earn points for surveys and redeem them for rewards. Third-party reviews describe invitations arriving by email and gift-card style rewards.

Pros: Large international panel; points can accumulate across multiple surveys. Cons: Not every invitation will match your profile; confirm what rewards are actually offered in India.

5. The Panel Station

The Panel Station is a survey panel that gives members points for completing surveys, which can be redeemed for vouchers and coupons. The app listing says surveys are shared once your profile is complete, that points are credited after completed surveys, and that some surveys can end as Terminated or Quota-full.

Pros: Rewards are redeemable for vouchers and coupons rather than requiring a bank account  you can read the site’s rewards and redemption policies before joining. Cons: As with any panel, surveys depend on your profile and may end early; check how long points stay under review before redeeming.

To see how points and redemption work before you commit time, read The Panel Station’s Rewards Policy and Redemption Policy.

6. OpinionWorld India

OpinionWorld has an India-specific site and member reviews written by users in India. Some reviewers say that ID verification was required before redemption, and that documents accepted in other countries may not match what Indian users hold. Confirm which documents are accepted before spending time on surveys.

Pros: India-focused site. Cons: Reviews mention strict ID checks; check what you must provide before you start.

7. Swagbucks

Swagbucks is a rewards site that offers surveys alongside other earning activities. Swagbucks currently accepts Indian members, and which reward options and minimums apply in India. Remove this entry if India is not supported.

8. i-Say by Ipsos

i-Say is a survey panel run by the market research company Ipsos. India availability, point values, minimum, and rewards. Replace the entry if not supported.

9. Rakuten Insight

Rakuten Insight is a consumer survey panel from Rakuten.

10. Valued Opinions

Valued Opinions is a survey panel focused on brand and consumer research.

How to join survey apps to earn money in India, step by step

The steps are broadly the same across panels:

  1. Check eligibility. Make sure you meet the age rule (this guide is written for adults 18 and over) and that the app accepts members in India.
  2. Read the payout rules first. Find the reward options, the minimum balance, point values and expiry before you register.
  3. Register with an email address or phone number you control. Use an account you can verify and recover. Do not share bank or UPI details at sign-up.
  4. Complete your profile honestly. Surveys are matched to your age, location and interests. Accurate answers lead to better matches.
  5. Start with a short survey. Note the time it took and the reward, so you can judge whether the app is worth your time.
  6. Redeem only through the official rewards page. Keep screenshots of your completed surveys and points history in case you need to raise a query.

How to choose survey apps that actually pay

No app can guarantee a payout, but these checks help you filter out the ones that are likely to waste your time.

  1. Confirm there is a payout route that works in India. Vouchers, Play credit and bank or UPI transfers all work differently. Choose the reward you will actually use.
  2. Convert points into rupees before you start. A worked example, using made-up numbers for illustration: if an app credits 300 points per survey and needs 3,000 points for a 100-rupee voucher, you need ten completed surveys. If each takes 10 minutes, that is roughly 100 minutes of work for the voucher. Do the same sum for any app.
  3. Look for a minimum balance and an expiry date. Points or credits that expire can disappear if you do not reach the minimum in time. Google, for example, states that Opinion Rewards credit expires.
  4. Check how long points stay under review. Some panels hold points for a period while they verify responses. Public reviews of several survey sites mention long waits, so a published review period is a good sign.
  5. Find out what ID or verification you need. If an app asks for documents only at the payout stage, you may have done a lot of work before discovering you cannot redeem.
  6. Never pay to join, and never share your UPI PIN or OTP. Real survey panels pay you for your opinion. You do not need a PIN to receive money.
  7. Read the privacy policy. Surveys ask about your age, income, habits and location. Know who receives the data and how to delete your account.

How to spot survey scams

Genuine survey panels are free to join and set their reward rules out in advance. Be cautious if an app or message:

  • Asks you to pay a registration, processing or withdrawal fee.
  • Promises a fixed daily income or high amounts for simple tasks.
  • Contacts you first on WhatsApp or Telegram with a task link.
  • Asks for your UPI PIN, card details or an OTP to send you money.
  • Has no identifiable company, address or privacy policy.

If you lose money to an online fraud in India, call the national cyber fraud helpline 1930 as soon as possible and file a report at the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (cybercrime.gov.in). Government material states that quick reporting improves the chance of stopping or freezing a fraudulent transfer. Also tell your bank or payment app immediately.

The short version

The best survey apps in India are not the ones with the biggest promises. They are the ones whose rules you can read in advance and whose rewards you will actually use. Pick two or three from the list, try a few surveys in each, and note the time spent against the points earned over a couple of weeks. Keep the one that pays at a pace and in a form that suits you, and drop the rest.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: Are survey apps legit in India?

Some are, and some are scams, so check each one. Legitimate panels are free to join, name the company behind them, and publish how rewards work. Google Opinion Rewards is run by Google and pays in Play credit. Avoid any app that asks you to pay a fee, share a UPI PIN or OTP, or promises a fixed daily income.

Usually only small amounts. What you earn depends on which surveys you qualify for, how long they take, and the app’s reward rules. Rather than relying on claims from other websites, try a few short surveys and work out your own reward per hour. Needs editorial care: do not add earnings figures without a verified source.

Some may, but many pay in vouchers, gift cards or store credit. Google Opinion Rewards, for instance, pays in Google Play credit. Check the rewards page of each app for the options actually offered in India before you start.

Researchers often need specific groups, such as a certain age, city or product user, so you can be screened out even when you answer honestly. Surveys can also close if enough responses have been collected. Do not change your answers just to qualify, because inconsistent responses can lead to rejected points.

Often they do. Google states that Opinion Rewards credit expires, and several other panels set expiry or inactivity rules. Check the terms for the apps you use and redeem before the deadline.

Share only what the survey legitimately needs and read the privacy policy first. A genuine panel may ask about demographics and interests. It should not ask for your UPI PIN, card PIN or OTP. Use a separate email address if you want to keep survey invitations away from your main inbox.

Contact your bank or payment app straight away and call the cyber fraud helpline 1930. Then file a report at cybercrime.gov.in. Acting quickly gives the best chance of stopping the transfer. Recommend legal or compliance review of this answer.
