THE BIG PICTURE
Learning Is Becoming a Way of Life
The Panel Station surveyed 247,667 consumers across 28 global markets to understand how learning habits are changing in an increasingly digital and fast-moving world.
The findings reveal a clear shift. 45.1% of respondents are working professionals actively learning new skills, 41.3%learn something new every day, and 87.6% are confident in their ability to master new knowledge. Learning is no longer limited to classrooms or formal education—it is becoming part of everyday life.
Consumers are also embracing more practical and flexible ways to learn. Hands-on experience, online resources, and AI-powered tools are reshaping how knowledge is acquired, while curiosity and adaptability are becoming essential life skills. The future belongs not to those who know the most today, but to those who never stop learning.
Careers No Longer End Learning
45.1% of respondents describe themselves as working professionals actively learning new skills, while 18.4% identify as lifelong learners. Only 20.1% say they are not currently learning anything.
The findings show that learning has become closely linked to career progression. As industries evolve and new technologies emerge, consumers increasingly recognise that staying employable means continuing to build knowledge. Education is no longer a one-time milestone—it is becoming a continuous investment in personal and professional growth.
Learning Every Day Is Becoming the New Normal
Learning is becoming a habit rather than an event. 41.3% of respondents say they learn something new every day, while 30.5% do so a few times each week. Fewer than one in ten say they rarely learn something new.
This reflects a significant change in behaviour. Instead of waiting for formal courses or workplace training, consumers are integrating learning into their daily routines through short videos, articles, podcasts, conversations, and practical experiences. Small, consistent learning moments are replacing occasional bursts of education.
Confidence Is Fueling Continuous Growth
Confidence in learning is remarkably high. 87.6% of respondents rate their ability to learn new things at 4 or 5 out of 5, while very few express low confidence.
Believing you can learn is becoming just as important as what you learn. High confidence encourages experimentation, career changes, and skill development, creating a mindset where learning feels like an opportunity rather than a challenge.
Learning by Doing Is Winning
39.1% of respondents prefer hands-on practice, making it the most popular learning method. Visual learning through videos and diagrams follows at 25.3%, while reading books or articles attracts 16.5%.
Consumers increasingly want learning that is practical, engaging, and immediately applicable. Rather than passively absorbing information, they prefer experiences that allow them to practise, experiment, and solve real-world problems. The shift reflects a growing demand for education that is relevant, flexible, and action-oriented.
AI Is Becoming a Learning Partner
Around 46% of respondents believe AI will replace some traditional methods of learning, while 18.4% believe it could replace them completely. However, 35.6% still feel that traditional learning will remain essential, suggesting consumers see AI as a complement rather than a complete replacement.
The findings point to a future where education becomes more personalised and accessible. AI is increasingly viewed as a tool that accelerates learning, provides instant support, and adapts to individual needs. Rather than replacing teachers, it is helping learners access knowledge faster and more efficiently.
Future Skills Are Shaping Today's Learning Choices
When asked which skills they most want to develop, digital and technology skills emerge as the strongest priority, followed by business and finance, languages, creative skills, and communication.
Consumers are preparing for a future where learning extends beyond technical expertise. While digital literacy is becoming essential, interest in creativity, financial knowledge, and interpersonal skills shows that people are looking to build well-rounded capabilities that support both career success and personal growth.
Education Is Being Asked to Prepare People for Life
Many respondents believe today’s education system provides a strong foundation, yet open-ended responses reveal a consistent call for change. Practical life skills, financial literacy, emotional intelligence, problem-solving, and real-world experience are among the areas people believe deserve greater attention.
The findings suggest expectations of education are evolving. Consumers want learning that prepares them not only to pass exams, but also to navigate careers, manage money, adapt to technology, and solve everyday challenges with confidence.
Curiosity Is Becoming a Competitive Advantage
An impressive 81.3% of respondents rate themselves 4 or 5 out of 5 when asked how open they are to learning a completely new field within the next year. This willingness reflects a mindset that embraces change rather than fears it.
As industries continue to evolve, curiosity is becoming one of the most valuable personal assets. Consumers increasingly recognise that the ability to learn, unlearn, and relearn is what will help them remain adaptable in an unpredictable future.

THE FUTURE OF LEARNING
Learning in 2026 is becoming more continuous, practical, and self-directed. Consumers are no longer waiting for formal education or workplace training to build new skills. Instead, they are learning every day through digital platforms, real-world experiences, AI-powered tools, and personal curiosity.
The future will belong to learners who remain adaptable, embrace technology without losing human creativity, and view education as an ongoing journey rather than a destination.
